Bobby Fischer, born on March 9, 1973, was an American chess prodigy who swept his domestic competition in the field of chess, eventually winning consistently against everyone else internationally. He would be widely publicized as a famous chess prodigy with great talent, eventually qualifying for the 1972 World Championship against the USSR. 

Fischer would go on to display strange tendencies and behaviors around this timeframe, but he would ultimately win the championship that held great political influence. He would go on to find himself in more controversies and replayed his past World Championship opponent, Boris Spassky at a much older age. 

Fischer would pass away on January 17, 2008 in Iceland, the country that granted him asylum after he rematched with Spassky years later. Lets talk about The Genius of Bobby Fischer and his IQ.

The story of Fischer is often compelling, as his chess genius has led many to ask how could one be so dominant, especially when they were all alone? Fischer himself had quite the erratic personality, and some may attribute this to his genius. Regardless, Fischer indeed is a genius, having sat the Stanford-Binet test and scoring 180-187. This score, when corrected for modern time, would be around 155, making him classified as a genius and highly gifted, perhaps even exceptionally gifted. This would mean that with a score of 155, he would be 1 in 8,137.
